For those of you who don’t know, let me tell you about Kelly Park. It is a fun, cheap time in Orlando, perfect for a hot summer day. Kelly Park is a God-made lazy river. The water is part of Rock Springs, so it’s cold but crystal clear. A wooden walkway takes you to the place to put in your tube and start floating. When you reach the end (maybe 20-30 minutes later), you pick up your tube, walk back, and do it again…and again!!
Park admission is only $1.00 (kids under age 5 are free!), and you can rent inner tubes at many places on the drive to the park, most for around $5.00 per tube. Pack a cooler, bring a big blanket, and claim a patch of grass with prime view of tubers passing by. There are picnic tables and grills available, too, as well as a concession stand. You can even camp there.
Kelly Park is perfect trip for those with kids and those without. Who knows, maybe an otter will pop up next to you while you float…it happened to me!!
Park hours (summer): 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM
**TIP: Get there early! It’s popular, and you don’t want to be turned away.

We’ve gone a couple times and really loved it, but you do have to go early cause if they’re full they’ll turn you away. But if you do that, you can drive down to the end of the street and rent canoes and go canoeing.
