Favorite Bible Verse

Mine is the first line of Psalm 46:10 - “Be still and know that I am God.”

I like the entire Psalm but this line has always been a favorite.

Why? Because it’s so hard for me to be still and trust God. I’m a busy body and when things go wrong I like to try and fix it myself. But this verse reminds me not to worry or be anxious, and to trust God. It reminds me that God is in control of everything and He knows everything. So who am I to take his place?

What’s your favorite Bible verse or passage, and why?

Proverbs 3:5,6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight.”
I love the part that says not to lean on my understanding. Because I am a very logical person and will try to figure everything out if I could. But I like that His Word tells me that I am not always going to understand and just to trust Him!!! It’s hard for me, but I need to Psalm 46:10! :-)

Romans 8:1,2 “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death.”

My pastor in college was preaching through Romans when I spent 2 years of doubt in my faith and believe in God. God really used his sermons, among many other things, so bring me back to Himself.
