I can relate, can you?

What’s sad, is that I’ve totally done this before!

*sigh*

If you’ll excuse me, I need to go pray now…

Some of you are addicted to the hit television show, Grey’s Anatomy, and now I’ve been sucked in. In fact, I even referred to a particular guy as “McDreamy”. I’m officially obsessed.

Thanks to this great blog, now I know that Caedmon’s Call’s lyrically compelling song about redemption, “Ten Thousand Angels” will receive a rare and lengthy place on an upcoming episode of the ABC hit drama series, “Grey’s Anatomy” on January 10th. Featuring vocals by Derek Webb, the song will play for five consecutive minutes during an emotionally charged final scene.

“Ten Thousand Angels” is a bonus track only available on the limited edition of the group’s current release, Overdressed, which was in the top 5 of iTunes Editorial list of 2007 for overall “Best Christian Albums”.

Women’s Bible Studies
January 8th, 2008

Have you ever participated in a Women’s Bible Study at UPC? I’ve been in three over the past year and a half, and I must say, they are wonderful. They keep you in the Word (something that’s difficult for me to do if I don’t have a “class” to do it for) and provide good opportunity to build relationships with other women, since you’re seeing these ladies at least once a week. And, if you have preschool children or babies, you get childcare and some adult time!

Most studies are starting up again next week (exceptions are noted). The first three are on Wednesday morning from 9:30 to 11:30 at the church, though Mary’s will officially end at 11 am. The study led by Karin Tome will be Tuesday evenings from 7 to 9 pm at UPC. Here’s more info:

Pondering Parables: Stories to Chew On
mary-b.jpgLed by Mary Beauvais, beginning January 23, 9:30 to 11 am

The parables of Jesus - by design - seem to raise as many questions as they answer. Their original hearers often missed their meaning entirely; even Jesus’ disciples expressed confusion or frustration at Jesus’ indirect delivery of truth. We will attempt to grow through both the provocation and beauty of this style of teaching and will likely join others through the centuries in some level of head scratching and heart searching. All ponderers welcome!!

God’s Love, Alive in You by Kay Arthursheri-penman.jpg

Find strength to resist temptation and joy to persevere in trials. Learn incredible power of words and secrets to answered prayer in this lively study. Expected weekly preparation is about one hour.

Currin Ann SeelyJesus, The One and Only by Beth Moore

This is an 11-week interactive Bible study. This is a life-changing journey which will lead you through the hills of Galilee with the Teacher, across the lake with the Master, and finally on the road with the Savior, his face set toward the cross.

Lost Women of the Bible
Led by Karin TomeKarin Tome

If you’re anything like me, you’ve probably felt lost at times. Lost in your role, lost in your mission, lost in your desires. You are not alone. Come spend time with ten women of the Bible and see their strong, relevant message for women today. You can find strength and significance in their stories.
