Back to School Feelings

nullSummer is officially over once school starts. For some school started about a month ago and for others school started 2 weeks ago. Here in Orlando we’ve had 2 hurricane days! Where I grew up we had snow or ice days.

How are you feeling now that school started?

a) stressed at first but feeling okay now
b) finally, the kids are out of the house and I get free time!
c) ugh, more traffic
d) it doesn’t affect me

I work in the Student Life/Admissions Office at RTS so the first two weeks of Fall classes are the most stressful of the entire year. I run around the campus like a crazy person for several days. However, this year RTS was closed for three hurricane days during the first week of classes, which was weird, but nice because I got to stay home and hang out with friends.

I picked “a.” I’m feeling better but trying to adjust to the new schedule with school-aged kids. “B” is my second choice, though. :) I only have two kids at home instead of four!! Woo hoo!

Not having kids in school until this year, I used to just be super annoyed by all the traffic, but this was somewhat mitigated by the fact that the parks and pools were once again deserted for the little ones. But, now that my first is in preschool 2 days a week, I’m feeling a bit of B.

Ohhhh where do I begin? :)

I am still in “summer mourning”! I miss the schedule free days but the kids like being back in school. I guess I would say (C) since I have one kiddo in Preschool and one in Elementary school which makes for LOTS of driving back and forth!

At first I was going to say D b/c I don’t have kids :( so it doesn’t really affect me. But then I realized most my friends have kids in school now so it does affect me b/c it affects them! They are busier dropping off and picking up.
