We are the women of University Presbyterian Church in Orlando, Florida.

Some of us have blogs, and some of us only read them. Some of us are married, and some of us aren’t. Some of us don’t have children, and some of us do. Some of us are in our twenties, and some of us are in our fifties. (or sixties!)

Despite our many differences, all of us have a common desire to be a part of the work that God is doing in and through the women of UPC.

We hope that you will find connection and community at cravinggrace.org.

And we sincerely hope that through the stories, life experiences and words of the women represented here, God will be glorified and His people will be challenged and uplifted.

Meet the authors:

Anna Limber Anna Limber
I moved to Orlando when I was 6 and have lived here ever since. I started attending UPC’s youth group in 1994 when I was in 9th grade, and Sunday morning worship shortly after that. I’m married to Matthew and we have a 2 1/2 year old daughter and a son due in February 2008. I teach and tutor Latin to kids of all ages, and I enjoy reading and being with my family and friends.

I have been living in FL a little over a year now. My husband Matt and I moved here from MN so that he could pursue a Masters of Divinity at Reformed Theological Seminary. We never imagined that we would love a church body so much after such a short time, or be so blessed to serve in youth ministry in such a capacity while in seminary. When not hanging out with the UPC high schoolers, I hang out with middle schoolers as I teach 7th grade geography in Oviedo. I also love aerobics, hanging out with friends and family, and being active in Women in Ministry at RTS.

I’ve been living in Orlando and attending UPC since fall of ‘99. I’m Puerto Rican, (I know, I don’t look it, but I really am), born on the island and raised in the Washington DC area. My husband, Rob, of 11 years is my red-headed babe. My loves, besides God and Rob, include adventure, gourmet food, traveling and chocolate chip cookies. I’m a graphic designer and I love what I do. I can’t wait to interact with you through this blog and eventually meet you in person.

I’m a native Floridian, nay Orlandoan. I grew up on the west side of Orlando in Windermere, a small town known primarily for its dirt roads and proximity to the Piggly-Wiggly. I studied Philosophy at UCF and then got my M.A. in Biblical Studies from RTS. I love ultimate frisbee, going indoor rock climbing, and playing disc golf. You may think i’m outdoorsy, but I’m really not. I just carry a Nalgene to look hip. My dream date? Chick-fil-A and the library.

I grew up in Kenya, East Africa, and moved to Orlando (and UPC) almost 4 years ago. I am a Nurse Practitioner, wife and mom for my handsome husband Erik and three cute daughters, Lauren, Meredith and Coriena. I love to bake (hence, my role as the recipe moderator), read and spend time with my friends. My family is scattered all over the world, so I have really come to value blogging as a way to keep in touch and grow in relationships.

I grew up in Kenya as a missionary kid. If you’re wondering why there are so many of us from Kenya on this blog, it’s because we are all related. Pam Johnson is my lovely sister, and Rinnie Hersman is my fabulous sister-in-law. We all belong to the Hersman/Johnson clan that is quickly taking over UPC! I, myself have attended UPC since 1999. Most of that time I have spent heavily involved with the junior and senior high youth in the church, which I will continue to do, as they are one of my passions.

I’m a southern girl who moved around a lot growing up, but I’ve been in Orlando since the summer of 1999. I met my handy man husband, Jason, at work and we’ve been married for 6 years. My two little ones, Natalie (almost 4) and Nicholas (almost 3) keep me on my toes. You can imagine I don’t have much down time. When I do have down time, I’m on the internet blogging either here, on my personal site, or my new health blog I just started. I love to research natural health options and I love stupid funny movies.

I have 4 grown children, 6 grandsons and 1 grandchild on the way who all live far away. Those little boys are the loves of my life! My four children are all UF Gators and 3 of them married a UF Gator! So, yes, we bleed orange and blue! I have lived in central Florida for 26 years. I’m currently in real estate; it gives me flexibility to be with my family more. I have been at UPC 5 years and have really enjoyed being a part of the women’s ministry and the Bible studies. My favorite things to do (other than be with my kids and grandkids) are traveling to Maine and/or my daughter’s cabin in north Georgia, hiking, enjoying the outdoors in any way I can (!), reading, and cooking.

I moved to Orlando in 1991 when Campus Crusade for Christ relocated here from California. I still consider myself a California girl at heart! I am a wife and mother and recently went back to work part time at a local preschool. I have been married to Kent for almost 9 years and he truly is the love of my life. We have 2 great kiddos - Lindsey is 6 and Ethan is 4 who are a huge source of joy in our lives. I thank God for them daily! In my free time I love to cook, bake, take pictures and “play” on my computer either writing or reading blogs.
