Books anyone?
December 6th, 2007

phpv1wucrpm.jpgBrightlight Books is having a year-end sale on December 6, 7, and 8 (Thursday, Friday and Saturday). All books, CDs, and DVDs will be priced from $0.49-$2.99! I’m going because they have a great selection of used books on theology, philosophy, religious and biblical studies, and so I hope to find some great presents for my book-loving husband, Matt. Brightlight is a bookstore specializing in new, old, and out-of-print books. They also have a wide collection of DVD’s and CD’s. They have over 8,000 books categorized into categories including Art, Decorating, Photography, Children’s, Technology, History, Classics, Fiction and many, many more. Check it out and see if you can’t find some great gifts!

Brighthouse Books is located at 1099 State Road 436 Casselberry, FL 32707 near the intersection of 436 and Red Bug Lake Rd.

Creative Gift Ideas
December 3rd, 2007

I’ve found it’s hard to find gifts for the person who doesn’t need anything, or even for a creative person. But I have found a couple of websites that feature creative and unique gifts. Why go to the stores when you can shop from your home! These are two great websites.

recycled-purse.jpgUncommon Goods - this site is full of gifts, from jewelry to Recycled Record Ornaments(set of 3 for $18) to gifts for pets. One of my favorites is the recycled Bar Code purse and this product.

What I especially love about this site is that many of their products are made from recycled or organic products. This site is also easy to search. You can use a keyword, or specify price range, occasions and categories.

Perpetual Kid - the tag line for this site: “Entertain Your Inner Child”. These gifts are fun and can be toys for our inner child. There’s the Whatever Wall Clock and my favorite, the Cassette Tape Dispenser. If you don’t know what a cassette tape is, don’t worry about it.

How about these Hot Heads Oven Mits. They are 100% virgin silicone and temperature-tolerant from -58 degrees to 446 degrees. Only $9.99 per mit.

Hope this helps with your Christmas shopping!

Black Friday
November 15th, 2007

If you’re like me you’ll do the insane thing of going shopping on Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving. If you’re even more insane you’ll wake up at 5 am to get the deal you really want. But getting up and out the door by 7am is good enough for me.

Here’s my strategy: I look through the adds on Thanksgiving, or the day before, and decided if there’s anything I need to buy that on sale. I also look for free items I could use after rebates. And I’ve gotten a lot of good deals doing this. Some years are better than others. Sometimes I’ll go to the clothing stores I like and see what kind of sales they have.

My husband found a website that already has Black Friday ads and they post more as they get them. I’m still checking the site out.

Happy Black Friday shopping to all who will do like me!
